Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders by 3
Seatbelts everyone, we're diving head-first into the grudge match between the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders journeying into the lair of the FIU Panthers. The last meeting these two had was more like a picnic for the Blue Raiders, thrashing the Panthers 40-6. Oh, how sweet the memories must be for the Raiders.
This season, these two teams have managed the same record, how absolutely thrilling, each sitting at 3-6. Honestly, I think the local high school teams have better consistency, but you gotta work with what you have. Speaking of consistency or the lack thereof – recent performance also paints a pretty shared tale of woe for both teams.
For the Raiders, Nicholas Vattiato, their gunslinger, has been slicing the air with about 1060 passing yards with 7 TDs. However, perhaps he should work on those 4 stray passes, better known as interceptions; I guess nobody’s perfect. For the Panthers, Keyone Jenkins has been leading the charge, albeit with fewer overall passing yards, but those 9 TDs certainly do brighten up the stats. Shall we mention Chayden Peery briefly, you ask? Not too much to say there, with only 1 TD.
In the vanguard for the Blue Raiders, we see warriors like Holden Willis, Jekail Middlebrook, Omari Kelly tossing the pigskin around like it's a discus in a Greek bathhouse. Very lively stuff. Meanwhile, on the Panthers end, you have troopers like Eric Rivers, Dean Patterson, and Devonte Lyons making an impact on the offensive end. It's like watching a chicken run with scissors, utterly haphazard, but oddly entertaining.
On the battlefield that is the defensive line, both teams are showing a little nerve. Anthony Bynum appears to be the silver lining in blue for the Raiders, while Jamal Potts is keeping the roof from falling in for the Panthers.
So, who takes the gold in this contest, you ask? Well, dear friends, even though the Panthers have home advantage, their past performance doesn't quite fill me with confidence. I think the Blue Raiders might just revisit the scene of their previous massacre.
