Broncos Trample Eagles 26-18, with Abdus-Salaam and Wolff Driving the HerdThe Western Michigan Broncos have fairly fluttered past the Eastern Michigan Eagles with a 26-18 victory in an adrenaline pumping encounter. With Wolff leading the charge for the Broncos with a neat 126 yards through the air and Abdus-Salaam ravaging the field with 135 ground yards, the Eagles really had their feathers ruffled. This duo was also the most prolific, ripping through the Eagle's defense for a touchdown each.
Despite a stellar 127-yard rushing performance and two touchdowns from Delbert Mimms, the Eagles couldn't quite clip the Broncos' wings. The Eagles evidently found things quite challenging in the air with a modest 91 yards gleaned on passes. A couple of turnovers didn't help the Eagles' cause either, sounding more like a double squawk of dismay than an inspiration to rally.
The game summary shows a valiant but unsuccessful attempt at a comeback by the Eagles during the 3rd quarter. They were trailing 16-0 at halftime but Mimms’ touchdowns, a two-point conversion and a successful field goal took the scores to 26-18.
Considering the Broncos entered the match as favorites with a 6.5 point pre-game spread, there's certainly no upset.
Looking back, the Eagles' losing streak had unfortunately continued, adding another defeat to an already sour nest of encounters. As for the Broncos, they managed to maintain a decent stampede despite a recent tumble against the Central Michigan Chippewas.

My Prediction
Western Michigan Broncos by 7Despite Eastern Michigan Eagles' quarterback Cole Snyder outperforming his counterpart Hayden Wolff on completions and yardage in the stats from the last month, Wolff has proven more accurate with less interceptions in his favor. However, Snyder has some dynamic weapons at his disposal, with wide receivers Markus Allen and Terry Lockett making waves in the offense, while running back Delbert Mimms steadily churns the yardage with his reliable running.
On the other side, the Broncos are banking on running backs Jaden Nixon and Jalen Buckley. Nixon, particularly, has been a force to be reckoned with his impressive rushing average per attempt. It's a different kind of offensive strategy, one that might go brutally head-to-head with Eagles' James Djonkam and Luke Murphy, defensive linebackers that could shut down that run.
Looking at the Western Michigan Broncos' defense, we can't exclude safety Tate Hallock who's been intercepting left and right in the last month, sure to pose difficulties for Snyder's attempts.
From a historical perspective, the Broncos had a decisive victory over the Eagles in their previous encounter and recent performances also suggest a trend - although frankly, neither of these teams seem in top shape. Sigh, stats never lie and it appears we're heading towards a repeat of the past. Brace yourselves folks, we're about to witness a showdown at wild wild Western.
