Slap on your pads, ladies and gentlemen, we got Arkansas Razorbacks heading into the Tiger’s den at Missouri. Now, I don't want to spoil the suspense, but the scales seem to be pretty balanced or maybe ever so slightly titled in the favor of Missouri.
Last year’s memorial memento of the Tigers trouncing the Razorbacks 48-14 is somewhat still fresh but, it’s new day, new game. Based on this season, Missouri seem to have a better winning ratio with 6-2 compared to Arkansas’s 5-4. The Razorbacks, much as their name suggests, used their sharpness to chop down Louisiana Tech Bulldogs 35-14 recently while Missouri tamed the Bulldogs too, albeit in a bit tidy fashion 39-20.
Now consider the Quarterbacks, where Arkansas got Taylen Green throwing 7 TDs with only 3 INTs and 822 yards down the field in the last month, with Malachi Singleton's neat 1 TD from 207 yards. For the Tigers, Brady Cook with 2 TDs, 1 INT and 535 yards is cooking up a storm alongside Drew Pyne who’s been a mixed bag with 3 TDs but also 3 INTs in the past month.
Arkansas' offense crew sports Andrew Armstrong and Rashod Dubinion, who's been running like a wild stallion with 355 yards and 2 TDs in the past month.
Missouri, however, got Theo Wease, who caught the damn ball like it's a magnet to his hands for a total of 246 yards and 2 TDs. And don't get me start with Luther Burden, who's been burning the field with 243 yards and 2 TDs.
In the trenches, Arkansas’ got their lineback Xavian Sorey flexing with 32 tackles and a sack in the last month, and Brad Spence adding another 27 tackles and 2.5 sacks. Missouri’s answer is Corey Flagg with a whopping 34 tackles and Triston Newson with 27 tackles, a sack and a forced fumble.
I've been through ups and downs, pros and cons, but my gut's telling me that the Tigers are gonna put up a show this weekend. With slight advantage in quarterback efficiency and stronger defense, Missouri might just have a razor-thin edge.
