Kent State's passing yardage of 229, although decently impressive, failed to overshadow Akron's 250. And any team running for 277 yards must feel pretty zippy, right?
The hairs of the game were probably Akron's Tahj Bullock's hard-charging pair of touchdowns and his zero-interception performance. Kent State's Tommy Ulatowski performed decently but couldn't outshine his opposite number, especially with that lone interception. And what about Akron's Jordon Simmons? He must have felt like sprinting a mini-marathon with 113 rushing yards!
The scoring summary tells the tale of a failed comeback by Kent. Despite Kent's promising early touchdown lead, Akron swiftly swooped in, leaving the Flashes floundering in the dust. Akron just kept piling up the points while Kent could only stand and witness their gold fading away.

Looking at their past meetup, it was a close shave with Akron Zips squeezing past the Golden Flashes with just about 4 points. Heck, you could say the Zips were low on battery that day!
Akron Zips, riding high on a 2-7 season record, seem to have the Flashes' number, who've been blanking out with a 0-9 record this season.
Akron’s QB, Ben Finley, has been holding his head above water with 108.8 passing efficiency and 6 TDs. Sorry Flashes, seems like Finley isn't planning on any 'fin'l collisions anytime soon. On the other hand, Kent State’s QB, Tommy Ulatowski, has been staggering under the weight of those 6 interceptions. Boy, get a grip, Tommy!
