My Prediction
Atlanta Hawks by 3Let's dive into the nitty-gritty of this matchup, ladies and gents. On one side, we have the Detroit Pistons descending onto the home court of the Atlanta Hawks. Both teams lock horns fairly evenly on the record front - Pistons standing tall with 22 wins to 21 losses and Atlanta flapping their wings with 22 wins and 20 losses. The Hawks getting the slight upper hand, must I add.
The Pistons, with their youngster Cade Cunningham, have been doing some impressive work. I mean seriously, the kid's averaging 25.5 points per game over the last month. And let's not forget Jaden Ivey, another sprightly one who's been throwing in 19.2 points on average. But I must draw your attention to that massive rebounding force - Jalen Duren. Not a scoring machine, but boy, this chap can rebound!
Panning over to the Hawks, let's give a hats off to Trae Young. Throwing in 27.3 points per game over the last month, is no small feat. De'Andre Hunter and his 18.8 points and Jalen Johnson with his double-double have been handing out solid performances too.
It might be a bit of historic overkill, but let's glance back to their past meetups. We've seen them exchange wins and losses, playing rollercoaster with the scoreboard. Most recently, a nail-biter was seen in November 2024, where the Pistons snagged the win by a single point.
On the recent front, both teams have had their share of victories and losses. But the Hawks most recent feat over the Knicks might just be the confidence buffer they need.
