Well, if we peer into the crystal ball of stats and past performances, the Utah Jazz-New Orleans Pelicans game is shaping up to be quite a spectacle.
On the Jazz side, the vibrant polyphony of talents can be seen. Collin Sexton has been weaving together a sweet, sweet symphony of points, averaging 21.9 points last month, dipping slightly from his season average of 18.3. Lauri Markkanen’s 22.9 points per game last month also sets a high bar. And then there's John Collins, pulling in an impressive 9.7 rebounds per game in the last month.
For the Pelicans, it's starting to look like an all-star showcase. Zion Williamson has been attending to the board with 8.5 rebounds last month and maintaining a steady score of 21.9 points per game this season. Trey Murphy III has been on fire, lighting up the court with an impressive points average of 25.2 last month. Then there's Dejounte Murray, who not so secretly has been creating opportunities with an average of 8 assists.
Looking at past matchups, the Pelicans seem to have the edge, consistently outscoring the Jazz in most previous games. The recent winning streak of the Pelicans also speaks volumes. While the Jazz can put up a fight, their less-than-stellar season record of 10 to 30 wins to losses adds a dollop of skepticism to their victory claims.
The Jazz, clinging onto the 15th position in the Western Conference, and the Pelicans just edging ahead at 14th, it's a battle of the lower tiers. Given the Pelicans' recent and past success against the Jazz, all signs seem to favor them. But, as the old adage goes, "On any given Sunday," or in this case, on any given day a basketball game is played. But, purely by the numbers:
