New York Knicks by 6Well, sports fans, it's exhilarating when the circus of our beloved NBA rolls into town, and tonight we have the Atlanta Hawks taking on the New York Knicks. What's that worth in popcorn? Let's crack it open, shall we?
Commanding the Hawks we have Trae Young, lad's been throwing pebbles in the sea, hitting a cool 26.9 points per game last month. He's backed up by Jalen Johnson and his tantalizing average of 19.8 points and 10.5 rebounds last month. But, we can't forget De'Andre Hunter, the silent guardian of the Hawks, landing an all-too-precise 19.3 points per game last month. But then again, today's stats came in yesterday's mail.
Now, let's glance across the court at the Knicks. Karl-Anthony Towns and Jalen Brunson have been setting nets on fire with 26.5 and 27.6 points per game respectively, last month. Our friend Josh Hart though, aims for completeness, holding an average of 14.3 points, 11.8 rebounds, and a not-to-shabby 5.6 assists per game. Now, New York's concrete jungle might just be where talent lies, as the poets say.
Let's head to history lane. The past matchups suggest the two teams share popcorn fairly well, it's an even split folks. Their regular season records the Knicks knocked a few more bottles off the shelf than the Hawks. And the recent games saw both teams claiming more wins than losses.
The Knicks also happen to hold a loftier possession in the Eastern Conference standings, sitting at #3 while the Hawks are perched at #6. But who are we kidding? Everybody loves an underdog story. But not tonight, folks.
