Los Angeles Clippers by 4Ah, so we have a classic Los Angeles showdown here between the City of Angels' pride and joy, the Lakers, and the 'other' team in LA, the Clippers. Not that I'm picking favorites or anything, but we all know that these matchups are always a bruiser.
On one hand, we've got the Lakers, who are performing just averaged this season with 22 wins and 17 losses. Looks like they're burning through a candle named LeBron James, who's been brilliantly dropping 23.8 points a game this season, not to mention dishing out 8.8 assists per game. The King and his men, Anthony Davis and Austin Reaves, have been packing some punch in the paint, especially Davis who's been combing the boards like a pro, averaging 11.9 rebounds per game this season.
But let's cut to the Clippers' chase. They're barely ahead in the season standings with 23 wins and 17 losses, nose to nose with the Lakers. They're headed by the crafty wizard James Harden, delivering 21.4 points per game this season and Ivica Zubac who's really nailed his role of cleaning the glass this season with 12.5 rebounds per game. Last month, Norman Powell had been causing all sorts of headaches for opponents, averaging an impressive 24.1 points per game.
Breaking down the past matches between these two home rivals, we had a splendid entertainment seeing 4 out of 5 last matches dancing in the Lakers' favor. Though let's not forget that all of them were nail-biters, leaving fans in sweats till the last minute. But then, we can't ignore the fact that recent results show better performance by the Clippers. Seems like they've been having a pretty good run with their latest victory over the Portland.
So, all things considered, even though the past has a way of nudging us towards the Lakers, the numbers whisper a slightly different story. We're in for a match where the Clippers may just pull one over their glitzy neighbors.
