Oklahoma City Thunder by 14
Look at this folks... erm, correction. I mean: you've got your popcorn ready, and we're diving straight into the deep end with a clash of the titans. Well, one titan and one... something else. It's the Brooklyn Nets at the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Now, the Nets have certainly got a handful of diamonds in their rough season. I'm talking about Cam Thomas, averaging impressive 24.5 points per game these last month, and Mr. Consistent, Cameron Johnson, with 22.8 points per game. And let's not forget D'Angelo Russell's experienced hand with 8.2 assists per game. Fits well, if you look at it with squinted eyes, that is.
On the other side, we've got the Thunder with a roster that's lighting up the league like a Christmas tree. Oh look, there's Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, hitting the big numbers with 33.8 points per game last month. And Jalen Williams with 18.8 points per game too. And I can almost imagine the Nets looking up to Isaiah Hartenstein, sitting high on the boards with 12.1 rebounds per game in the past month... I mean, that's lofty.
Now before I start preaching doom and gloom for the Nets, let’s mention the past matchups. The Nets have beaten the Thunder before. Hmm, what's this? Oh yes! Nets scoring a 124 to the Thunder's 115! But that was 2 years ago, and remember kids, memory can't buy buckets.
Let's face it. The Thunder are cruising through the season like a bulldozer in a china shop, landing themselves first place in the Western Conference. The Nets, on the other hand, are... well, they're proud occupants of the 12th slot over in the Eastern Conference.
In the end, let's face it - Thunder's recent appearances have just screamed intimidation, while the Nets... let's just say they're going through an extended blue Monday. Expect the Thunder to keep thundering on, and the Nets to keep reaching for the, well, net.
