Oh, the sweet smell of an upcoming matchup. We have an interesting pairing tonight as Boston Celtics, the Beantown behemoths, host Orlando Magic in what's sure to be a game of thunders. Alright, let's sift through some specifics.
The Celtics have some pretty excellent firepower in the likes of Jayson Tatum, who’s been dribbling up a storm with an average of more than 26 points per game last month. Let's not forget Jaylen Brown either who's got a perfectly decent average of over 22 points per game last month. Kristaps Porzingis, of late, has been stuffing baskets too, with more than 18 points per game. With these gentlemen at the helm, you wouldn't want to take the Celtics lightly.
Now the Orlando Magic, don't get me wrong, also packs its fair share of punch. Paolo Banchero has been on fire with an average of more than 25 points last month and this is reflected in his overall season stats as well. Jalen Suggs is also not too shabby with a generous helping of points last month. And don't you dare forget about Goga Bitadze. He’s been pulling down boards like it’s laundry day with more than 9 rebounds per game last month.
However, it's worth mentioning that when these teams have locked horns in the past, things haven't been exactly rosy for the Magic. The last five games have seen them lose four times to the Celtics. This is despite having a slightly better recent run than the Celtics. Oh, and you can't work without considering the overall positions in the Eastern Conference – Boston at number 2, and Orlando tailing behind at number 5.
Oh and speaking of the regular-season records, even a half-interested passerby would notice that the Celtics hold a significantly better win-loss record (28-12) compared to the Orlando Magic (23-19).
So, after considering all this tea leaves reading, where are we? Who's got the upper hand tonight? Well, you didn’t hear it from me but let’s just say Magic would need to pull more than a rabbit from their hat to win this one.
Albert's Prediction: Boston Celtics by 13.
