New Orleans Pelicans by 3Ahem, let's get down to brass tacks and cut right to the chase, we’ve got a game here where you’ve got the Portland Trail Blazers, currently sitting at a not-so-stellar #13 in the Western Conference, squaring off against the New Orleans Pelicans, who are even further down the totem pole at #15.
Now, let's talk players. Portland’s got Anfernee Simons who's been burning the net with an average of 21.7 points per game last month, and Shaedon Sharpe ain't too shabby either, putting up 18.7 points per game. And the Pelicans can’t ignore Deandre Ayton, who's made the paint his personal property, hauling down an average of 11.3 rebounds per game last month.
But, let's not get too comfortable, Blazers, because the Pelicans are bringing some fiery shooters to the court. Zion Williamson for one, is averaging 22.0 points per game, last month, and Trey Murphy III is dealing damage with 23.1 points per game. Then there's Dejounte Murray, playing the orchestrator, handing out 8.6 assists per game pretty efficiently. It’s a tough crowd, you’ve got to admit.
Recently, if we look at the scorecards, both teams haven't put up a dazzling performance. Portland’s had its ups and downs with wins against Dallas and Milwaukee, but fell short against Detroit, LA, and Philadelphia. New Orleans isn’t doing much better, seeing defeat at the hands of the Timberwolves, Miami and the LA team; though they did manage to right the ship against Washington.
Now, if we dive into the history books, things might look grim for New Orleans, seeing as Portland put a 18-point whooping on them back in November. But hey, past performance doesn’t necessarily dictate future results, right?
When considering all these elements and doing a bit of math, with a wink, I'd say we've got a likely outcome.
