Minnesota Timberwolves by 6I suppose my crystal ball is in the shop today, so we're doing this the old fashioned way, folks! Now, don't punch any holes through your TV screens just yet - we're diving into a duel between the Minnesota Timberwolves, with a winning, yet precarious, 18-17 record, and the New Orleans Pelicans who have been, eh... let's say 'struggling' with their 7-29 standing. Understatement of the year, am I right?
The Timberwolves have some heavy hitters in the form of their top player, Anthony Edwards, who has been pounding the court with a spectacular 25.6 points per game this season. Julius Randle also adds to the mincing machine with his own hefty 19.6 points per game.
Meanwhile, the Pelicans now wobble on an unstable crutch as Dejounte Murray, their rock with an average score of 15.4 points per game, is sporting a band-aid today with a 'doubtful' attachment to his name. Murphy III who had a blistering last month stat, scoring 23.1 points on average, also has a 'doubtful' tag. Guess a naughty leprechaun has been pinching their players.
Looking at the history books, these teams have had quite the tête-à-tête, with Minnesota seeming to edge out a bit more frequently in their recent encounters. However, the Pelicans do have a knack for shaking things up when you least expect it.
But unless the New Orleans' mascots are secretly wizards with healing powers or Minnesota's team gets abducted by aliens mid-match, it's a safe bet that the Timberwolves are going to dominate the court. It looks like another loss tacked onto the Pelicans' unfortunately long list given their performance recently.
