What a matchup this is going to be! The Golden State Warriors, currently 8th in the Western Conference, hosting the Sacramento Kings, who are tucked in a couple rungs lower at 11th. Golden State has been having a decent run compared to the Kings, with an 18-16 win-loss record versus Sacramento's slightly underwhelming 16-19.
These two teams have had some intense battles in the past. I mean, gee, with the last 5 games almost all came down to a point or two. That's basketball at its most nerve wracking, but I digress.
Turning our sights onto the court, the Kings have their big guy Domantas Sabonis, who's been slinging out around 20 points per game this season while hoovering up rebounds like a vacuum cleaner. But, oh wait, De'Aaron Fox, their scoring machine, and Keegan Murray are both doubtful for this fixture. That's sure to dive-bomb their chances.
Now the Warriors... you can’t ignore the elephant on the court - Stephen Curry being doubtful. That would typically be dire news, but the Warriors have been sharing the scoring load recently. Jonathan Kuminga, averaging 20.5 points and Andrew Wiggins with a steady 16 points per game last month, have been stepping up to the plate. Oh, Kuminga’s missing too? Well, that’s a bit awkward. Not to worry folks, Wiggins has been showing promise.
With key players on both sides under injury clouds, it's going to be interesting to see who steps up the most. But given the Kings' trouble with injuries and their middling form, I'd say the odds seem to favor the home side tonight.
