Twisting my lucky horseshoe, let me take a crack at this. Looking at the spirit of competition between New York Knicks and the Chicago Bulls, it's clear the deck is stacked against our dear Bulls specifically in this matchup.
The New York Knicks, towering over in their performance, as their records (24-11) testify, have been on a pretty good roll. Talk about consistency! And seriously, folks, whose heart doesn't skip a beat at the mere mention of Karl-Anthony Towns and Jalen Brunson? Cat and Brunson are like the dynamic duo Gotham never had stirring the pot with a miraculous 24.7 and a championship-record 25.1 points per game from last season. But let's take a pause and pour some tea for the injured Jalen Brunson and Miles McBride. Brunson's doubtful presence could very well be a spanner in the works for the Knicks.
Turning our gaze towards the Chicago Bulls, they seem to be grazing in the field with a regular season record of 15-19. The numbers aren't doing much to intimidate, and it certainly doesn't help that players Ayo Dosunmu and Torrey Craig are sitting this one out. Then again, Zach LaVine with his 23.4 points per game (last month), and Nikola Vucevic, with 20.3 points this season, have been the shining stars in otherwise the cloudy night of the Bull's season.
But hey, let me remind you, it's basketball - a ball can bounce any way. The past matchups between these two teams have been a thrilling rollercoaster - games that could give anyone a heartburn. The Knicks barely skated past the Bulls in their last face-off with a one-point lead. But, given the current favorable wind for the Knicks, unless the Bulls have a few tricks up their sleeves, I'm seeing red for the Windy City's team.
Given all such tantalizing facts and figures, I'm inclined to place my bet on New York Knicks. A couple of hoops here and there might just swing the score a bit, but not enough to dethrone the Knicks.
Albert’s Prediction: New York Knicks by 6.
