Sacramento Kings by 5Okay, now, here's a colorful picture for you. We've got the Memphis Grizzlies squaring off against the Sacramento Kings tonight, and I tell you folks, this one might get a little messy.
First off, the Grizzlies, who have been quite the act to watch this season, are limping on one leg today, missing big names including their ace, Ja Morant and the rising star Desmond Bane who have both been pretty instrumental this season. And let's not forget about Santi Aldama who's also declared missing. That's quite a roster of talent warming the benches, folks. Even with Jaren Jackson, they might still struggle in the absence of key players.
On the flip side, we've got our Sacramento Kings, lit up this season by standout performances from De'Aaron Fox and Domantas Sabonis. Sabonis has been a rebounding juggernaut, grabbing the ball like it owes him money while De’Aaron Fox has been scoring more than a handsome bachelor on a Saturday night. Sure, they're down Keegan Murray tonight, but the rest of their armada is still afloat.
If we take a gander at their previous encounters, it's been back-and-forth, but let's not forget the Kings were able to pull off a rather impressive 41-point win over the Grizzlies a year ago.
Plus the Kings seem unstoppable at home lately, pulling off wins against the likes of Philadelphia and Dallas. The Grizzlies had a mixed bag of recent results, let me tell you, they recently lost to an Oklahoma City team that won’t be troubling the playoffs anytime soon.
In the standings, the Grizzlies may be perched pretty at #2 in the Western Conference, but let's face it - it's the Kings turf we're playing on and those boys are itching to climb up from #12 in the West.
Given the circumstances, I think it might lean towards the guys in purple tonight.
