As we take a peek into this matchup between the Chicago Bulls and the Washington Wizards, we see a tale of two cities, if you will.
Staring at the helm for the Bulls, we've got the double-threat duo of Nikola Vucevic and Zach LaVine, not too shabby if you ask me. Vucevic has been popping off an average of 20.6 points per game in this season with 9.9 rebounds, while LaVine is right on his tail with 22.0 points. Not to be overlooked, we also have Coby White who's been filling up the stat sheet with 18.0 points per game this season. Guess they don't call Chicago the Windy City for nothing, these guys are blowing away my expectations.
On the other hand, we've got the Washington Wizards who are quite the enigma. Jordan Poole is doing some heavyweight lifting, pushing out 21.3 points per game this season. They're also getting notable contributions from Malcolm Brogdon and Bilal Coulibaly, but in the land of stats, the Bulls' herd is grazing on greener pastures.
Looking at the past games between these teams, it would look like the Bulls have had the Wizards' number on speed-dial, especially with that whopping 127-108 victory. Not a great look for the Wizards, I must say.
Chicago holds down their 9th spot in the Eastern Conference with a 15-18 record. Meanwhile, Washington's weathering a cold storm at 15th in the Eastern Conference with a 5-25 record. Their recent games don't inspire a ton of confidence either, with Chicago winning two of their last five games, and Washington clutching one of their last five. They'd need a miracle, or at least a few rabbit-out-of-the-hat tricks to change their fortune.
With the Bulls' talent roster and the steadfast consistency they've shown in their past matches against the Wizards, I'd question your judgment if you thought the Wizards had a sorcerer's chance. The phrase "never tell me the odds" comes to mind, but, sheesh, even Han Solo might think twice about this one.
Albert's Prediction: Chicago Bulls by 7.
