New York Knicks by 15Boiling down what we have here, folks -- wait, scratch that, rule against starting with "Well folks". If you're itching to scratch a betting itch, here's a little something to mull over.
In the blue corner, the New York Knicks, heavily favored by... well, some stats I can't speak of. Let's just say the bookies seem to be painting the town in Knicks colors. And why not? They've got Karl-Anthony Towns, Jalen Brunson and Mikal Bridges, each one equipped with a scoring average that could drive any opposing coach to tears. Let's not forget about Mr. Consistency, Josh Hart, putting up 13.6 points and 7.4 rebounds per game... and they say romance is dead.
In the red corner, the Washington Wizards. All I can say is they've been trying -- bless their little hearts. Jordan Poole has been a bright spot with 21.5 points per game. Malcolm Brogdon and Bilal Coulibaly too have been contributing their fair share, but the results haven't been exactly mesmerizing, have they?
Now, let's talk about the past meetings between our two gladiators. The Knicks have been consistently sending the Wizards back to Hogwarts, with the latest matchup ending in a 134-106 thrashing. Our Wizards friends will definitely want to write a different song this time.
As for this season, the Knicks have been bullies; look at their 20-10 record, sitting comfortably at #3 in the Eastern Conference. The Wizards, on the other hand, are, well... still working on their magic, I suppose. They're rooted to the #15 spot in the Eastern Conference with an abysmal record of 5-23.
Based on recent results, the Knicks have shown a consistency that's as reliable as gravity. On the other hand, the Wizards, well... it seems they've been on a roller coaster whimsically designed by a five-year-old.
