Milwaukee Bucks by 7Ladies and Gentlemen, what an enticing contest we have unfolding tonight. Were I a betting man, I'd tell you to firmly strap yourself in for a spectacular showdown. We have Milwaukee Bucks gearing up to face the Chicago Bulls in an unpredictable dance on the court.
Starting with Milwaukee, let's call a spade a spade here. They've got a pretty formidable lineup. I mean, who wouldn't blink twice when you have Giannis Antetokounmpo throwing projectiles into the basket with a mind-boggling average of 32.4 points per game this season. Add Damian Lillard, a seasoned vet with last month's stats showing a sound average of 24.9 points per game, into the mix, and you've got a dream team wearing antlered jerseys.
In the opposition camp, the Bulls aren't exactly straw-chewing bovines either. Although slightly on the backfoot record-wise, you'd be a fool to discount them. Nikola Vucevic and Zach LaVine averaged 21.1 and 22 points per game last month respectively. They carry a pretty hefty punch when they step onto the hardwood.
Now, let's dunk our heads into the past. The matchups between these two have more drama than a daytime soap opera. The Bucks did manage to outscore the Bulls fair and square in their most recent encounter. However, the Bulls have shown glimpses of brilliance before and on their day, can really upset the apple cart.
Looking at the regular season records, Milwaukee is cruising with 16 wins compared to Chicago's 13. But as the Bulls would rightfully claim, it's not how you start but how you finish.
Recent results sway in favor of the Bucks, who have won three of their last five, one of them conveniently enough against the Bulls, while the latter have had to swallow the bitter pill more frequently, with three losses in the last five.
In the grand scheme of things, the Bucks are lounging in 5th position in the Eastern Conference, a notch above the Bulls who are currently 10th. It's worth to consider these are not permanent residencies, a few bad games could turn the tables pretty quick.
Pitting all these variables against each other, in a bizarre algorithm that only the basketball gods understand, I'm inclined to make a prediction here.
