My Prediction
Los Angeles Lakers by 7Ahem, allow me to draw you a curtain peeler between the Orlando Magic and Los Angeles Lakers— a mammoth clash that's drawing a bunch of attention, not just for the ogling fans watching from their lucky charms-laden rooms, but also those whose palms are tingling to place a bet.
The Magic, If I may, have been conjuring up a decent slap and tickle on the court. They've got Paolo Banchero, who's racked up a jaw-dropping 29-point average—complemented nicely by about 9 bumps off the board—man's got springs for legs, I tell ya. Couple that with Franz Wagner, who's more than just an overachiever with a 22-point per game average, and they've got some serious fire power.
Now here's a significant hiccup as Banchero is out with a boo-boo and Wendell Carter Jr. couldn't make it to spell his ABCs in front of the bench, being doubtful—they'd be sorely missed I assure you. I can almost see tears in the eyes of Magic fans...or maybe it's just dust, who knows?
"But what about the Lakers?" I hear you impatiently squeak—Hold on, I'm getting there. On their end, Lakers have Anthony 'the brow' Davis cooking up a storm, and LeBron 'not-from-this-planet' James—each boasting mighty numbers, send shivers down the spine, don't they? And let's not forget, there's Austin Reaves who's bench-pressed about 18 points per game off late. But we can't ignore the fact that Davis is doubtful and Hachimura, and few others are riding the same doubtful boat—missing the game could possibly leave the Lakers with a crater-size gap in their performance.
Taking a peek in the rear-view mirror at their past skirmishes, the Lakers have had the upper hand in the last two games, though Magic did manage to pour a bucket of cold water on one of their encounters.
Churning all these facts through the rusty gears of my brain and considering that Lakers are riding the wave with recent on-the-money performances, despite Magic's slightly better position in the standings—well, it's all quite a sizzling suspense isn't it?
But then, what good a commentator would I be without sticking my neck out with a prediction? And here it is without further ado,
