My Prediction
New York Knicks by 15Well, slap me silly and call me a basketball guy, 'cause we got ourselves a showdown. On one side, we got the Washington Wizards prancing around the hardwood, and on the other, the New York Knicks are sporting a determined look that says "I'm not washing your jerseys tonight".
Now, the Wizards are packing some unmitigated statistical firepower this season: Jordan Poole is an artillery specialist from beyond the arc, tossing up an average 22.2 points. Kyle Kuzma isn't far behind either, swishing and dishing with his 17.9 points. Importantly, one of their notable contributors, Bilal Coulibaly, is currently nursing an injury so his availability is doubtful; it must be devastating for the Wizards fans as he was well on his way to averaging double figures this season
On the home court, the Knicks are hurling a one-two punch that should make anyone stand up and applaud, or at least suppress a yawn. Karl-Anthony Towns is not just a "KAT" climbing the statistical tree, he's a whole saber-toothed one averaging an impressive 26.4 points and 12.4 rebounds. And oh boy, the assists, Jalen Brunson seems to be in a sharing mood this season with his 6.8 assists average. A minor setback though, their back-up scorer Miles McBride, won't be playing due to an injury.
Team records aren't whispering secrets in our ears. The Knicks are seemingly trucking along with a 7-6 record, compared to the Wizards who appear to have forgotten their magic wand with a disheartening 2-10. Additionally, the Knicks have dominated past matchups, reminding the Wizards each time "We've got your number."
Recent results suggest Knicks haven’t been too shy of winning, whereas the Wizards simply cannot catch a break, unless it's the kind you don't want. Position in standing? Laughably disparate, with the Knicks lounging at the #4 spot in the Eastern Conference, while the Wizards are stuck at the basement level.
Alright, gather up all this, mix it in a blender, spice it up with some inside knowledge and you get an obvious prediction. So, without further ado:
