Oh the sweet smell of hot dogs and the crack of the bat – this is gonna be a goodie. Atlanta Braves welcoming the Toronto Blue Jays at Truist Park – an eagle vs a tomahawk, let’s dice it.
Let's talk about arm candy now. On starter's mound for Blue Jays we got Yariel Rodriguez. With this season’s stats showing a 4.88 ERA and a Whip of 1.46, he'd better have a good day if he wants to compete. Meanwhile, the Braves got Chris Sale, showing off a superior ERA of 2.49 with a WHIP of 1.02. The boys in Vegas might be onto something.
The lineup isn’t looking bad for either of the teams. On Toronto's side, Guerrero Jr., Wagner, Horwitz and Clement have been swatting pretty decently. But will they edge past Braves' bruisers Ozuna, Laureano, Olson, and Harris II? These names are bound to ring a few bells.
Flashback to history class, these two have knocked it about a bit recently. In their last 5 games, it's been a fairly mixed affair with the Blue Jays in front 3 games to 2. But, the Braves pipped them in their most recent skirmish.
BLUE Jays with a regular season record of 68-75, doesn't make for a great bedtime story, while the Braves sit slightly more comfortable at 77-65. Hoping the recent series plays out in favor of the Jays would be like hoping for diet soda at a hot dog stand.
Dropping in on the recent form of both teams. The feathers have been slightly ruffled for our Jays recently with a couple of close losses. On the other side, not that smooth sailing either for the Braves but they have been better off.
So, what does that all mean? Get your lucky clovers and horseshoes ready because here comes the verdict:
