You know, it's just another day in paradise as we have the Miami Marlins crossing paths with the Houston Astros at the infamous Minute Maid Park.
We got the Marlins' Roddery Munoz coming up first to the mound, pulling a 5.60 ERA with 8.3 in strikeouts per nine innings this season. I've seen eighth graders with scarier stats than that. On the other side, Jake Bloss is trying to hold his own, despite his 5.63 ERA and 5.6 K/9, in what would be best described as an 'uninspiring' season opener.
For the Marlins' line-up, we've got Dane Myers leading with a smoking .355 average, while Jazz Chisholm Jr. is sliding around the bases with 6 stolen bags under his belt. Jesus Sanchez and Bryan De La Cruz are bringing some serious thunder with their bats as well. Still, the Astros aren't exactly trembling in their cleats. They've got their own heavy hitter in Yainer Diaz, and Jose Altuve and Yordan Alvarez are no jokes when it comes to delivering RBIs and home runs, respectively.
Historically, our aquatic friends from Miami seem to be speeding towards an iceberg, given their past outcomes against Houston. Plus, their season record paints a rather grim picture.
Recently, the Marlins' performance oscillates more than my feelings towards my ex-wife, while the Astros seem to have found a rhythm more stable than my retirement plan.
Taking these factors into consideration, we can't ignore the elephant-sized Asteroid in the room – the Astros are statistically and metaphorically stronger.
