San Francisco Giants by 2
Esteemed fans, we've got what should be a riveting game between the Toronto Blue Jays and the San Francisco Giants today. The game's set to go down in the Giants' beloved battlefield, Oracle Park in San Francisco, a place where the batters get the juiciest part of the steak, if you catch my drift.
Straight off, we have Chris Bassitt starting on the bump for the Blue Jays. Solid guy, but with a season ERA of 3.51, he's really got to turn on that Betty Crocker Easy Bake Oven of a right arm. For the Giants, we've got Logan Webb on the mound, with an impressive season ERA of 3.12. He's been striking out batters like they borrowed his favorite pair of socks and returned them with holes in them.
Looking at the players, the Blue Jays' line-up features the red-hot Spencer Horwitz batting a blistering 0.338. For an added kick, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and his muscular .284 batting average and 6 home runs will definitely spice things up. On the Giants' side, we've got Heliot Ramos who cooks up a storm at the plate with a .280 batting average and 8 home runs. Boy, he sure likes sending those baseballs in a one-way trip to Souvenir City.
The last couple of dances these teams had were nothing short of Broadway musicals. Giants stole the show in the most recent head-to-head with a 4-3 win, but Blue Jays haven't always been the understudy. Their regular season doesn't paint the Mona Lisa for either team specificially, but the Giants have won a few more times, the Blue Jays might want to buckle up.
Taking a peep at the last few games for both the teams, Giants seem to have been playing a better brand of baseball recently, even if they're cooking with a few less cans in the pantry. They just edged out a win against Blue Jays in their last face-off but their recent games suggest a little bit of struggle to crank up the W's.
Based on all this jazz, let's be frank here: this is not going to be a walk in the park for either of the teams. But, the Giants seem to have the upper hand, especially playing in their own backyard. So, here's what I'm thinking:
