Ligue 1 seems determined to get my heart racing with thrill with yet another explosive clash in the pipeline, folks. Paris Saint-Germain faces off against Nice, and if history has taught us anything, it should be an absolute barn burner.
In the goalkeeping department, Nice marches onto the pitch with Marcin Bułka, who has a respectful season rating of 7.00 and 9 saves to his name. PSG isn't coming to this party alone and brings along Gianluigi Donnarumma and Matvey Safonov, both boasting ratings hovering above 6.5, albeit with just one save apiece. Clearly, Bułka is the shower and Donnarumma and Safonov are the grower(s).
Looking at the cream of the crop for both sides, Nice brings a solid lineup featuring key standouts such as Hicham Boudaoui, Jonathan Clauss, and Ali Abdi, with Abdi coming in hot with 2 goals and a staggering 85.3% in accurate pass. PSG aren't exactly slouches either, boasting their own arsenal of top talent including the exceptional Désiré Doué who has a stellar 8.35 rating, and an impressive 4 goals this season. And let's not forget their midfield maestro, Marquinhos, who while yet to score has a down right fantastic accurate pass % of 98.9.
Exploring their past encounters, it's a closely-fought battle with no team displaying a clear edge. Though, PSG managed to narrowly clinch victory in two of their recent four meetings.
In the season tally, it seems like PSG has been hitting the gym more regularly, with 24 wins under their belt against Nice’s 14 wins. Recent performance paints a slightly more complicated picture, with both sides winning, drawing and losing in roughly equal measure.
