Oh boy, this matchup between Montpellier and AS Monaco looks to be as one-sided as a pancake. Let's put it into perspective.
First off, Montpellier goalie Benjamin Lecomte has performed well on the nets with a 7.07 rating and 11 saves, but Philipp Köhn of AS Monaco has the same rating and isn't a slouch either.
Looking at the troops - AS Monaco's not exactly pumping in goals but they've got quality players. Get a load of Maghnes Akliouche, Lamine Camara and Aleksandr Golovin, focused more on pass accuracy than scoring but keep the engine running. It doesn't hurt to have some goal kickers like Breel Embolo and Eliesse Ben Seghir either.
On the flip side, Montpellier boasts lads like Teji Savanier and Joris Chotard who've actually found the back of the net this season. Modibo Sagnan doesn't fire off shots but he might as well have a GPS with that 90.1% accurate pass rate. Yet, their string of attacks need more oomph, if you're catching my drift.
Peeking at their past dances, AS Monaco bested Montpellier 3 times save a lone hiccup where Montpellier netted 4 goals, clearly they went for a coffee break those 90 minutes.
Checking their report cards, AS Monaco's season is spruced up with a record of 9 wins, 4 draws and 4 losses. Montpellier, on the other hand, seem to enjoy losing marginally more than drawing or winning.
And if their recent results were a novel, AS Monaco's is a thriller with twists and turns while Montpellier's is more of a tragedy.
After sifting through all of this, I have to say AS Monaco is a favorite here. Like a cat playing with a half-dead mouse. Nothing personal, Montpellier.
