Size up your suspenders and put those lucky socks on, it's time to reckon with the gladiators of the grid, Racing Club and Banfield. Let's put those stats under a microscope and see which way the pendulum might swing.
Our masked guardians between the woodwork, Sanguinetti from Banfield is sporting a decent 7.20 rating with 13 saves. While Racing Club is armed with two, count them, two netminders - Cambeses, with a 7.3 rating and 16 saves and also Arias who, albeit only having 3 saves under his belt, can't be ignored.
Moving into the thick of it, Banfield has Adoryan turning heads with his 78.3 accurate pass percentage. Iribarren is also showing he's got the chops with an 83.3% accurate pass rate - no small feat. And then there's Lautaro Ríos, who despite no goals, is proving quite the conductor with his 81.1 pass accuracy.
Racing Club isn't starved of talent either. Conti and Sosa, both jostling for control with pass rates north of 75%, are eager to make their mark. But the crowning jewel just might be Juan Nardoni, who's found the back of the net once and isn't reluctant to take a crack at goal either.
Looking at past hostilities, Banfield does have a little edge, having conquered Racing 2-1 in their last encounter. But if we squint at their regular season tapes, Racing's had slightly better fortunes with a 4-1-6 record, compared to Banfield's 2-3-6.
Peeking at recent antics, Banfield seems to have gone quiet with their last victory missing in their recent 5. Racing though, has tasted victory a bit more recently but also encountered a few bumps.
Now, when it comes to football – "resilience" isn't just some twelve-dollar word. It's what can separate victory from defeat. Given the numbers and the grit in the players, I'll peg Racing Club to take the laurels with a bit of sweat and tears.
Albert’s Prediction: Racing Club by 1
