Well, strap in folks – I mean, err, esteemed viewers, let's dig into the impending bloodbath that's brewing in Liga Profesional between Vélez Sarsfield and San Martín de San Juan.
Egads, look at that Vélez Sarsfield's record. Someone needs to get them some milk. On the contrary, San Martín de San Juan aren't exactly world beaters themselves, though, having only managed to scrape together a single win this regular season. Not exactly a Clash of the Titans we've got on our hands, is it?
No goalkeepers? Ha, doesn't surprise me given the records. We do however have Vélez's Tomás Marchiori, and San Martín's Matías Borgogno both showing decent presence between the sticks but, let's be honest, given their respective teams' tactical prowess, they should consider beach volleyball careers.
Player-wise, San Martín isn't exactly boasting the crème de la crème of the league, but they do have Tomás Fernández and Gastón Moreyra, who both seem to able to find the net more often than most of their colleagues. On the Vélez side, I guess we have to mention Emanuel Mammana and Álvaro Montoro. Solid passers, but unless they're planning on literally passing the ball into the net, I'm not seeing much offensive threat there.
Peering at the recent results - not exactly the pick-me-up I was hoping for. Seems our teams have spent more matches waving the white flag than raising a victory banner.
After dissecting this smorgasbord of mediocrity, my crystal ball tells me, and you might want to sit down for this, it's going to be a draw. Can't see either Vélez Sarsfield or San Martín de San Juan managing to puff out their chests and claim victory.
Albert’s Prediction: Draw
