Strap yourselves in for another round of rough-and-tumble football as Estoril Praia gets ready to clash with CF Estrela Amadora.
Looking at the goalkeepers, Amadora’s João Costa appears to be in a slightly better form with a 7.30 rating and seventeen saves under his belt. Compare this with Praia's Joel Robles who sports a 6.23 rating and has managed only eight saves.
Also, if we peek in the backfield, Amadora has the likes of sharpshooter Alan Ruiz who's delivered a 7.35 rating season with at least one strike that found the net, not to mention his astounding 81.4% precise passing proficiency. Meanwhile, Jovane Cabral and Paulo Moreira wait in the wings with pretty decent numbers as well. Not the deadliest trifecta, but you certainly wouldn't want to turn your back on them at a bar either.
For Praia, lead battering ram João Carvalho and second-in-command Vinicius Zanocelo have been impressive, both having punched in a goal apiece recently. Felix Bacher has also popped in a goal for good measure, probably just so he wouldn't leave the pitch empty-handed.
History shows a bit of a mixed bag with these two teams. Their most recent tussle back in January '25 saw Praia outscore Amadora 4 to 2, but a couple of years earlier, Amadora nicked the win with a 2 to 1 victory.
In terms of the regular season record, Praia has shown a smidge more constancy with 11 wins compared to 7 from Amadora - though both seem to have a soft spot for ending things in a draw.
Weighing the recent performance, Amadora seems like they've been on a bit of a rough patch lately with four straight losses. On the other hand, Praia may not be doing cartwheels either, having faced an uneven terrain with only one victory in their last five matches.
Looking at this whole picture, though, I feel the wind might blow slightly in favour of Estoril Praia. Something tells me the day could just belong to them, but not by a huge margin.
Albert’s Prediction: Estoril Praia by 1
