My Prediction
Real Sociedad by 2In this stirring matchup, we'll be focusing on the face-off between Real Sociedad and Las Palmas, two teams which clearly have vastly different nutrition routines.
Shining in the goalkeeping department for Real Sociedad, we've got Unai Marrero and Álex Remiro. They’ve managed to pull off 7.10 and 6.95 ratings respectively, with their glove work looking tighter than Saran wrap on last night's leftovers. On the other side, Las Palmas are resting their hopes on Dinko Horkaš with a 7.30 rating and Jasper Cillessen at a 7.07; unsung heroes both – making saves while their teammates are still figuring out which end of the pitch is which.
Digging into the players just a tad, Real Sociedad has an armada of talent under their belt. The golden boys being Sergio Gómez, Martín Zubimendi, and Aritz Elustondo boasting ratings of 7.43, 7.23, and 7.10 respectively. Now, if they could only figure out how to work together, we’d have a formidable force on our hands, a truly mesmerizing sight, much like a unicorn riding a shooting star.
Las Palmas, not to be outdone in the talent department, fields Alberto Moleiro and Viti Rozada, ranking 7.40 and 7.30 respectively. Moleiro has demonstrated a remarkable capability for aiming at the net rather than the hot dog vendor, unlike some of his peers.
Looking into the rear-view mirror at the past squabbles these teams have had - it's been a quieter affair than a mime's wedding. Two draws and one win to Real Sociedad seems to slightly tilt the scales in their favor, but then again, past performance is about as accurate in predicting future results as my MySpace top 8 is in predicting my actual friends.
Regular season records smile rather favorably at Real Sociedad with their 11 wins against Las Palmas’ unremarkable 6. Recent matchups do little to inject some hope into the Las Palmas fan base, who might be wondering if their scarves would be better used for crying into than waving.
