Salavat Yulaev Ufa by 2Ah, a frosty affair on the ice as Salavat Yulaev Ufa venture into the chilly harbour for a round with Admiral Vladivostok, both sides squeezing into their skates and sharpening their sticks.
In goal for Salavat, we have the Quandary of Zeroes, Alexander Samonov and Semyon Vyazovoy - their stats reflect a digital doughnut shop from the last month to this season. Maybe they're pacifists. Who can tell these days? On the flip side, we find Andrei Mishurov and Ilya Konovalov standing guard for Admiral, their stats matching their Salavat counterparts tit-for-tat - Zeroes for everyone!
On top of the 'top player pyramid' for Salavat, we have Sheldon Rempal and Alexander Chmelevski, with impressive stats. Rempal has carved himself a nice groove in opposing nets with 24 goals this season and Chmelevski hasn't been a slouch either with a contribution of 19 goals. Josh Leivo is another one to keep an eye on, with a whopping 41 goals under his belt this season. These folks are less about hockey and more about a bombardment campaign.
Admiral counters with Yegor Petukhov and Stepan Starkov. Both have been pretty handy, Petukhov with his 25 goals and Starkov contributing 12. A mention should also go to Daniil Gutik, who's tallied up a respectable 18 this season.
Let's take a quick wander down memory lane. Looking at recent encounters between these two titans, Salavat has won more matchups than Admiral. Just on the recent form, Salavat appears to have had a mixed bag of results whilst Admiral seems to be slightly more consistent.
Taken as a whole, and dusting off my crystal ball, the consensus seems to point towards Salavat having the upper hand. Between their fire-powered top players and their performance in past matchups, they seem to have the edge.
