A worrisome lack of saves for both teams' goalkeepers is making me nervous. Either the pucks are scared of them, or, well...let's not go there. Severstal's Konstantin Shostak and Alexander Samoilov have 25 saves this season, but what they're saving, we're not entirely sure. Moving along.
Severstal's got some juice in their line-up. Danil Aimurzin's been blasting it this season with an impressive 26 goals and 21 assists, impatiently trailed by David Dumbadze and Mikhail Kotlyarevsky. These boys didn't take their nicknames 'Sniper-1', 'Sniper-2' and 'Sniper-3' from their grandma's knitting club.
Casting our eyes across to Yekaterinburg's roster, Stephane Da Costa has crafted 12 goals and 36 assists this season, playing connect-the-dots with the net. Brooks Macek is doing his jig with 21 goals under his belt. Alexander Sharov is close at the heels too.
Past matchups have seen Cherepovets dominate and the regular season record is nip and tuck. But hold your horses - despite Cherepovets evening out recently after a good run, Yekaterinburg's been cruising with some high-scoring victories.
