My Prediction
FC Seoul by 1Let's put our glasses on for this one, ladies and gentlemen. We got FC Seoul and Gwangju FC squaring off in a crepe paper thin race from the K League 1. Each team comes with its own special flavors, balanced but not without weaknesses. And of course, my ousted ability to pick favorites speaks for itself.
Retroactively examining their previous face-offs, one thing is clear, Gwangju FC has relished these encounters more often. They carry the bragging rights from three of the last four outings, while one game ended with a whiff of stalemate. However, let's not forget that FC Seoul, despite its lackadaisical show, is not just here to sell popcorn.
Let's get the magnifying glass out and look at the regular season records. At ACME corporation, they'd say "what's up doc?", because we've got Gwangju FC and FC Seoul tied like Siamese twins at three wins apiece with one loss difference, leaning in favor of FC Seoul. Gwangju not exactly rocketing out of SpaceJam but they're not quite tangled in the Looney Tunes either.
Now, just when you thought you've got the plot, enter the recent results stories. Both teams've been busier than a cat covering up on a marble floor. Gwangju has been on the podium twice in their last five games, with a mixed bag of a loss, draw, and a win. Meanwhile, FC Seoul remains undefeated in their recent parade, though two games ended up in a symphony of neck and neck.
The ones placing their jitney on Gwangju FC would say they've been in the lab, brewing some form of a winning formula against Seoul. But on days like these, I'd place my pennies on the Minerva owls of the game. There's something about Seoul's recent spell, a divine whisper, if you will, that asperses a win.
