In the world of K League 1, we've got a real David and Goliath, except David seems to have forgotten his sling and Goliath is napping. It's Jeju United against Suwon FC, folks--oh, pardon me, a little birdie told me how, "folks," is a "no-no." Shh.
Jeju United was all in their feelings after they were humiliated 5-0 by Suwon last August. But, instead of wallowing, they slowly turned it around and managed to eke out a 1-0 victory the next time they met. Talk about a comeback... or not.
Jeju's regular season record clearly gives us a peek behind the curtain of mediocrity: 1 win, 2 draws, 3 losses. At this point, I'd settle for some bandwagon fans, just to liven things up a bit. Like a wet noodle in a drag race, their recent performances haven't exactly set the world on fire either.
Suwon FC is no better, practically giving away games with a regular season record of 0 wins, 3 draws and 2 losses. They've failed to seal the deal in their last five outings which would frankly give a dyslexic sudoku master more hope of winning than these guys.
Then again, in a face-off between two underachievers, anyone could squeak by. My gut tells me Suwon FC, with their proven ability to neutralize Jeju in the past, might just tip the scale in their favor, despite their abysmal record this season.
So without further ado, and with as much enthusiasm as I can muster for this exercise in futility:
