Punjab Kings to win.Chennai Super Kings and Punjab Kings are lined up for another thrilling encounter in the Premier League. Let's not forget those nail-biting finishes in the past that these two have provided us. I mean, could the margins have been any slimmer? C'mon, batboys, I've seen more separation on a subway train during peak hours.
Punjab Kings have had a strong performance in the recent past, there's no denying that. Were you at the Kolkata Knight Riders game? I haven't seen a thrashing like that since my mother found my report card in sixth grade. Their regular season record is not to be scoffed at too. Five wins against three losses, huh? Not bad, not bad at all.
But then we have the Chennai Super Kings whose recent performance has been, and I say this with the most affection, rather pitiful. I can't remember the last time I saw a team this demoralized since (...), well let's not go there. With just two wins and seven losses, their regular season record is definitely not something you'd proudly hang on your fridge.
But hey, in the game of cricket, much like my cooking skills, you never know what might turn up. Historically speaking, the matchups between these two have been unpredictably close. Almost like watching the season finale of your favorite soap opera, minus the tragic love triangles. However, the Punjab Kings have taken the upper hand in recent encounters and that's hard to ignore.
Given their current form, the Super Kings might have to summon the spirit of Niepce to capture a win in this game. While it would make for a great feel-good story, odds lean in favor of the Punjab Kings.
