Okay, in this continental bout, we have ASVEL Basket squaring up against Monaco Basket. Now, while ASVEL has a fiery little bundle of potential in the form of Theo Maledon - I mean 17 points per game this season, not bad kid - and Joffrey Lauvergne who's been pulling in over half a dozen rebounds per game last month, their record this regular season lets them down, sporting 3 wins against 7 losses. Add to this, the fact that they're presently languishing at the #15 spot in the Euroleague, I don't see things looking rosy for them.
On the other corner, we have Monaco Basket. Mike James and Elie Okobo have been consistent performers, chipping in with over a dozen points per game, but more importantly, have secured a record of 6-4 wins-losses in the regular season. They're holding a respectable #7 spot in the Euroleague, and let's not forget folks, they've won the last couple of encounters with ASVEL. Not saying this is a foregone conclusion but it doesn't take a genius to see where the odds lie.
For those who remember, let's just say ASVEL probably still sees the paint of the court spinning from the last couple of times they faced Monaco. Anyway, folks, you didn’t hear this from me, but let's just say the odds are looking stacked in a certain way.
