Liverpool by 2Alright you bet enthusiasts, brace yourselves! In this upcoming Champions League clash, we've got Liverpool taking on Lille at the League Stage, and what a fascinating encounter this promises to be.
Between the goalkeeper pipes for Liverpool, we've got both the stellar Kelleher, a fellow with a 7.93 rating and 13 saves, and Alisson who's got a 7.30 rating and 8 saves. For Lille, Chevalier is manning the fort with a 7.18 rating and 21 saves -- no goalie's a slouch here.
Looking at the field players, let's start with Lille. Now, they've got some solid performers, with Jonathan David who's been popping off scoring 4 goals, Ngal'ayel Mukau who's got 2 goals under his belt, and whatever the heck an Alexsandro Ribeiro is, with a commendable 84.8% pass accuracy (goals apparently being optional). But here's the rub, Lille are hit with the injury spell losing Tiago Santos, a pretty decent player, and two others -- Matias Fernandez and Edon Zhegrova.
Liverpool hasn't been without their troubles in the infirmary either. They're missing a couple of folks today, namely Gomez and Jota -- but let's not dwell on that, instead let's shift our focus to the positives. Mohamed Salah, the Egyptian king, has been on fire with a 7.72 rating and 2 goals to his name, not to talk about Luis Díaz, the Colombian jewel, who's scored 3 goals already. And we can't forget Alexis Mac Allister's contribution, also having hit the back of the net twice.
Recent form? Well, both teams are cruising along nicely. Lille's got a 4-1-1 record, squeaked out a 3-2 win over SK Sturm Graz in the their last game. Liverpool? Won all their six games, as evident by a standout 6-0-0 record, most recently grinding out a 1-0 win over Girona.
Taking all of that in, I'm gonna have to put my money on Liverpool. They've got the form, shooting prowess, and a tighter defense. Lille, though they'll put up a strong fight, are going to struggle to match that star power, especially patched up with bandages as they are.
