Alright, slide on those reading glasses and pay close attention. The Montreal Alouettes are paying a visit to the Toronto Argonauts in a Canadian Football League powerhouse clash.
The Alouettes have demonstrated their prowess this season. Their record stands tall at 11-2-1, which is roughly the same as my win-lose ratio with bad restaurant choices, only reversed. They're perched proudly at the top of the East Division standings, which is not too shabby.
On the contrary, the Argonauts, hovering at a meh-ish 7-7 position are respectable, sure, but not exactly basking in glory. They're hanging in there at the #3 spot in the East Division.
Against each other, these two teams have jostled and jittered and gone back and forth. But don’t forget the November 2023 face-off where the Alouettes whupped the Argos good, recording a 38-17 victory on the road, too.
Toronto's recent form is about as predictable as my ex-girlfriend's mood. They triumphed over the Lions and Roughriders but couldn't quite make it past the Tiger-Cats or the Redblacks. A little too "flip-a-coin" for my taste.
The Alouettes, on the other hand, are sailing smoother seas with wins over the Redblacks, the Elks, and the Roughriders. That tie against the Stampeders could be seen as just a blip on an otherwise decent radar.
So, based on their brilliant regular season, superior record, and recent results, my crystal ball tells me that Montreal's likely dusting off a spot in their trophy cabinet.
