As we nudge our way towards the impending matchup of the Shenzhen Leopards at Beijing Ducks, certain facts become clearer than my dear ol' granny's puddin' pie.
Let's start with the Leopards. Their top players present a picture you wouldn't call Picasso, but it's not all Dali either. You've got Xining He pulling out 24 points per game this last month, a number that can't be scoffed at. And then there’s Markell Johnson, dribbling his way to 17.3 points per game. Also, let's not forget about Trevor Thompson, a rebounding maestro with a neat 10 per game.
But let's not forget about the Ducks, shall we? Donning the mantel of their top players, we've got Yingjun Chen and Eugene German, dropping 20.3 and 14.9 points per game, respectively. I should also mention Richard Solomon snatching 10 rebounds per game to round off the Ducks' mojo.
Our history class tells us these teams have seen each other thrice in the recent past, and the Ducks have come out quacking each time. The regular season records only echo this sentiment with the Ducks sitting pretty at 20-12, as compared to the Leopards' less than cheery 11-22.
Turn your attention to the table, and you'll find the Ducks higher up, sitting at number 9 in the standings, while the Leopards, well, they’re not exactly perched up there at number 14.
Those of you mulling over the recent gameplay might find a little solace for the Leopards with a couple of wins under their belt recently. However, the Ducks though a little shaky recently, managed a sure fire win against the Fujian Sturgeons.
Taking all this into account, those of you with keen betting eyes might see the trend. And so, without further ado, I give you:
