Beijing Royal Fighters by 7
Oh, we've got a spicy match-up on the menu here in the CBA, as the Shenzhen Leopards take a little road trip over to square off against the Beijing Royal Fighters. Playing host, the Beijing brawlers have the likes of Grant Riller, who's been dropping more than 25 points per game last month, like he's leaving bread crumbs in the forest. Not to be overlooked, we also have Jared Sullinger, who has consistently been a dual threat posting impressive numbers in points and rebounds.
But let's not count out the visitors. Shenzhen parades Trevor Thompson and Markell Johnson on to the court, a duo who've had their hands filled with numbers both in points, rebounds and assists in the past month. Johnson, in particular, has been more generous than a grandmother at Christmas with 7.3 assists alongside his 16 points per game.
Shenzhen might be the underdogs here, given their hassling season with five wins to fifteen losses, but then, every dog has its day, right? Their recent victory over Ningbo Rockets makes you wonder. Beijing's no smooth sail either, with a recent blip against Zhejiang Golden Bulls.
A look at the past match-ups and you'll find Shenzhen has a little history of outwitting Beijing, sporting more victories. But let's not get lost in the past, right? It's the here and now that matters and in the current standings, Beijing's sitting prettier, ranked eleven in the CBA, compared to Shenzhen's distant eighteenth.
Now, pay attention, sports betters. Brace yourselves for what promises to be an intriguing contest. While the Leopards fortitude and verve may keep the Fighters honest, it's hard to ignore Beijing's higher perch in the standings and superior season record.
