Zhejiang Guangsha Lions by 6Good evening, sports fanatics. We've got a high-stakes face-off on our hands tonight as the Guangsha Lions of Zhejiang are duking it out against the Southern Tigers of Guangdong.
Zhejiang prides itself on the performance of Barry Brown and Jinqiu Hu, who've been lighting up the scoreboard recently. Brown, a powerhouse on the floor, has been averaging a solid 20.5 points per match lately and can set the pace of this game. Hu too has been dropping some big numbers, 21.5 points to be exact, with a side of 10.5 rebounds in his last month's stats.
The Southern Tigers aren't clawless, though. Troy Gillenwater is a one-man riot, racking up a whopping 31.3 points per match. Eric Moreland, another heavy-hitter for Guangdong has been pulling down rebounds like there's no tomorrow - an average of 13.3 to be specific - and could prove to be a vital cog in their defense.
The Lions are no doubt a force to be reckoned with, if their past showdowns are any indication. They've given the Tigers a run for their money ― and more often than not, they've come out on top if the last few encounters are any benchmark to go by.
Going by their regular season record, Zhejiang should be the apparent favorites, you would assume, with a strong 16-3, while Guangdong trails with an 11-8. However, don't be too quick to brush off the Tigers. Their recent winning streak, especially the emphatic victory against the Nanjing Monkey Kings suggests they are no pushover.
On paper, Guangsha Lions stand tall at #2, while the Tigers are positioned a little lower at #9 in the CBA standings. But as we know, games aren't won on paper, are they?
