Xinjiang Flying Tigers by 12
Taking it from the top, the Xinjiang Flying Tigers are heading into the ring with the Shandong Heroes. It's worth noting that the Tigers' den has been a tough home ground for away teams to crack. Dedrick Lawson and QJ Peterson have been roaring for Xinjiang, averaging in the mid-20s range for points per game last month. On the other side, Marquese Chriss is spurring the Shandong Heroes on with a solid 37 points per game.
Looking at their past face-to-face battles, it's a fairly one-sided story in favor of the Tigers. They've clawed their way on top in all of the last four matchups, with a scoring advantage that would leave even the most optimistic Shandong fan biting their nails.
Both teams have had their share of victories during the regular season, but Xinjiang is leading by a hair with a 14-4 record. To make matters worse for the Heroes, they recently had a hiccup against the Shanxi Loongs while the Flying Tigers mauled the Tianjin Pioneers in their most recent game.
In terms of position in the league standings, the Flying Tigers have since roared their way up to sit in third place in the CBA, while the Heroes are fighting their battles from a fifth-place position.
Without further ado, here's this commentator's humble prediction. Given the current circumstances, my crystal ball here is leaning heavily in favor of the home team.
