Liaoning Flying Leopards by 7
Okay, grab some popcorn because we've got a show coming. The Beijing Ducks will face off against the Liaoning Flying Leopards, and I don't know which is my favorite team name. Now, Eugene German and Zhou Qi have been doing some notable gruntwork for the Ducks recently. Whether it's 14.3 points per game and 5.7 rebounds from German, or Zhou delivering 13.3 points and grabbing 6.3 rebounds on average, the Ducks aren't quacking around.
But let's put the feathered jokes aside for a moment and talk about Liaoning's big cats. Kyle Fogg and Dez Wells are grinding for the Leopards. Fogg, with an incredible 27.3 points per game and 6.5 rebounds, is making some waves. Wells, not to be outshined, is averaging 26.5 points per game and 4.5 rebounds. How's that for team dynamics?
Looking at prior standoffs between the two, Liaoning has consistently outperformed Beijing over the last three matchups. Now, the Ducks have shown a tad more consistency this regular season with a record of 14 wins against 4 losses, while the Leopards are sitting on 13-6.
As for recent results - if you ask the Ducks, they would like to forget about their upsetting loss to the Guangdong Southern Tigers and the hard-fought defeat by the Shanxi Loongs. The Leopards, on the other hand, might feel pretty smug after shaking off the dust from their loss against Xinjiang Flying Tigers and coming out victorious against the Sichuan Blue Whales.
Not to give you a headstand, but currently, Beijing Ducks are at #7 in CBA 24/25, while the Leopards are lounging at #4.
All that being said, I'm leaning towards the Leopards in this matchup. The hair on my guess-ometer might be slightly tingling towards the hometown Leopards. Let's see how many gasps and applause this game fetches.
