Jilin Northeast Tigers by 8I hate to be the bearer of obvious news here, but if we shoot a quick glance at these teams' stats, we may already have a good idea of where we're headed. The Pioneers, bless their hearts, are straggling in the season with a 3-5 record. Not what I'd call a hot streak. On the other hand, the Jilin Northeast Tigers are not exactly ripping the court either, wobbling at 5-4.
Let's not forget to consider each team's key players in this impending clash. Much-admired David James and Marcus LoVett Jr. have been doing some heavy lifting for the Pioneers. James recently popped out a modest 25.0 points per game with LoVett Jr. following suit.
On the Tigers' front, we've seen Dominique Jones and Tomas Kyzlink shake things up. Jones, in his powerful last month, drained an exorbitant 40.0 points per game while Kyzlink contributed with an impressive 29.0 points.
Looking down the lane of history, only one of the three past encounters went in favor of the Pioneers. Sure, their last time on the court they outscored the Tigers by 14 points, but those were different days.
Let's fact-check with the recent results. The Pioneers have been beaten in all of their last three games. As for the Jilin Northeast Tigers, they have been prowling around with a victory against Guangzhou Loong Lions and an admirable win over Beijing Ducks just two rounds back.
To wrap things up, I don't want to berate the underdogs Pioneers here. They're a #16 team and all, but the Tigers, albeit positioned slightly better at #13, are looking a lot more ferocious for this matchup.
