Guangdong Southern Tigers by 9In this heated contest between the Shenzhen Leopards and the Guangdong Southern Tigers, there's more speculation at play than in a Wall Street betting pool. On one side, we've got the Tigers with their claws unsheathed, showing a more consistent performance in the recent past, and holding a slightly better regular season record. Moreover, guys like Troy Gillenwater and Darius Bazley have been working overtime on the court, with impressive stats to show for it.
On the other hand, the Leopards, with their rather dismal regular season record, seem to be taking more of a "let's just hope for the best" approach to the game. We have seen some good stuff from them, though, with their top scorers last month, Reggie Perry and Xining He, dropping points like it's their day job. Well, which it is, really. But based on their position in the standings, it looks like they might need a bit more than hope to pull through.
Remember the last time these two teams met? The Leopards were able to sink their claws into the Tigers, but let's not forget that the latter had a resounding victory over the former back in December 2023. Rubber match, anyone?
Giving all these factors a good shake and stir, the odds seem to be tipping in favor of the Guangdong Southern Tigers, assuming they are not bamboozled by any sneaky Leopard strategies or unexpected meteor strikes.
