In the no-holds-barred brawl that is Bundesliga, we have Union Berlin locking horns with VfB Stuttgart. Looking at our gladiators, Alexander Nübel, the goalkeeper for Stuttgart, has been batting the flying leather out of the net with a 7.10 rating and 10 saves. On the other corner, we have Union Berlin's fearless goalie, Frederik Rønnow, clocking in an impressive 7.30 rating and 9 saves.
Stuttgart is bringing big guns to the field, like Angelo Stiller leading the pack with an eye-popping 8.00 rating despite his aversion to putting the ball in the net. Leonidas Stergiou and Atakan Karazor aren't far behind with 7.65 and 7.57 ratings, respectively. Stergiou and Ermedin Demirović though, prefer hands-on action, contributing those much-needed goals.
However, down the field, Julian Chabot, who brings his 7.20 rating and a goal, might just peek out of the function due to an ominous injury cloud. A significant loss for Stuttgart, if that so happens.
Over on the Berlin side of affairs, no goal has come off the boots of Leopold Querfeld, Danilho Doekhi, and Diogo Leite but their contribution hasn't been any less valuable, boasting ratings of 7.57, 7.30, and 7.20, respectively. Rani Khedira and Andrej Ilić have managed to find the back of the net but that's not why we’re talking about them – Khedira's 7.07 rating and Ilić's 6.83 rating are sure to shake the match up a little.
Digging into the annals of football history, Stuttgart has thundered over Berlin more times than Berlin would like to admit. Especially, when the regular season records – Stuttgart's lukewarm 11-7-11 versus Berlin's chilly 9-7-13 – are brought into consideration, along with Stuttgart’s recent victory over Werder Bremen. On Berlin's side though, the recent days have been a comparative sunshine with two victories and two draws.
With all things considered, Stuttgart, despite Chabot's dubious health, seems to have created the 12th Star Trek film – Into Darkness for Union Berlin, yet the rating suggests a tighter match reminiscent of Bruce Willis’ jaw-line. This might well end with Stuttgart stealing a narrow victory from Berlin.
