Borussia Dortmund by 2Now, look, we've got a game here: Freiburg vs Borussia Dortmund. A classic Bundesliga matchup, the kind of clash that makes your wife roll her eyes as you claim control of the TV remote.
Starting off with the men between the sticks, Dortmund's Gregor Kobel seems average with his 6.60 rating and 5 saves. As we walk over to the Freiburg camp, now there's something noteworthy: Noah Atubolu with a 7.03 rating and 13 saves. The man's a livewire on a mission. But I might add, all these ratings without context are like powdered water. You just can't know until you pour it into a game.
Borussia Dortmund bring some real firecrackers to this event. Nico Schlotterbeck, with an impressive accurate pass rate of 83.4% and Emre Can, boasting 88.2% like it's just another day at the office, are worth keeping an eye on. Maximilian Beier, the loaded cannon with 2 goals and 4 shots on goal, is no slouch either.
Freiburg's answer? Well, they're not lacking firepower either. Lucas Höler with a goal, a 68.0% passing accuracy, and a 7.28 rating to his name is a solid fighter on the pitch. And then there's Ritsu Doan with an impeccable 7.30 rating and Vincenzo Grifo boasting a no less impressive 81.6% passing accuracy.
Now, if we take a cheeky peek at the past, Dortmund has been quite a bully to Freiburg, scoring like they're playing a video game and Freiburg's controller disconnected. Consider me not too surprised though, as Dortmund's recently added a win over Mainz to their fairly decent score sheet.
But hey, let's not sell Freiburg short. They've got a decent regular-season record of 12-6-9 and seem to enjoy a good draw. Recently, they've had a taste of victory, savagely thrashing Werder Bremen, even though Union Berlin gave them a bit of a checkmate.
So here's the kicker. Given both teams' form, past clashes, and dangerous weaponry on the pitch, I predict Dortmund will be the one grinning at the final whistle. This is not going to end well for Freiburg, but hey, football's a funny old game.
