Ah, we’re in for quite a showdown, aren't we? In one corner, we've got the Minnesota Lynx who've been strutting their stuff with a rhinestone-encrusted record of 14-4. Their leading lady, Napheesa Collier, has just been stunning, racking up an average of 20.9 points per game for the season, while serving up some stormy rebound action too. Not to be outdone, Kayla McBride has been setting the hardwood on fire with 15.8 points per game. They're hardly shrinking violets.
But ladies and gentlemen, let's not count the New York Liberty out. They're rockin' a 16-3 win-loss card and have been strutting around the court like they own the place. Breanna Stewart and Sabrina Ionescu have been lighting up the scoreboard, chalking up a tasty 20.6 and 20.2 points per game respectively in the last month. Jonquel Jones isn't too shabby either with 17.3 points per game for herself.
In their previous four encounters, it looks like New York has walked away with the spoils twice and Minnesota twice. Their most recent waltz ended with Minnesota walking out with a smile on their faces while Liberty searched for the band-aids. However, Liberty's record shows that they have bounced back better than a yoga ball, which can't be dismissed.
My magic eight ball, however, has a curious habit of being right, and while these Lynxes have been showing some teeth, it suggests that Liberty's form should prevail. In terms of the winning margin, me thinks Lady Liberty will be sticking her torch up by a handy 6 points.
Albert’s Prediction: New York Liberty by 6
