Boy, oh boy, what a matchup we have here today. We're looking at Genoa taking on Juventus, a splendid occasion that brings back memories of past tête-à-têtes, which consisted of the kits, the grass, the ball and that round thing they are trying to put into the net...ah, nostalgia.
On Juventus' side, we have the brick wall duo, Mattia Perin and Michele Di Gregorio, always ready to get their hands dirty. On Genoa's team, we've got Pierluigi Gollini making a lonely stand between the posts. Last month alone, he made more saves than I've made life decisions.
For Juventus, the shining bright spots are Bremer, Federico Gatti, Nicolò Savona - more consistency there than in my golf swing. Bremer even boasts a rating of 7.6 with a 0-duty on the goal front. He really lands his passes with a laser-like accuracy of 93.4%. Gatti and Savona, on the other hand, have been strong supporters with impressive stats, reminding me of my teenage years when my performances peaked while playing video games.
Over in the Genoa corner, we've got Aarón Martín, Ruslan Malinovskyi and Koni De Winter. De Winter, in the winter of his career, still managed to net one in, demonstrating why he's one of the top players for Genoa.
But let's look back a little, shall we? In the past Zimmer frame duels, Juventus managed to cop a draw against Genoa twice. I'd say they've been playing the waiting game more than I've been waiting for my dinner in a fancy restaurant.
Juventus regular season record floats around like an UFO: Unidentified Football Object. Two wins, three draws, and not a single loss. Genoa, however, with a record of one win, two draws and two losses, they've been on a roller coaster ride, and not the fun kind.
Most recently, Juventus decided to not cause any ripples in the score-line while playing against Napoli, Empoli and Roma but managed to keep their brooms out and clean-sweep Hellas Verona and Como with a score of three to nil.
Genoa, peeking out of the rabbit hole, has had quite the mixed bag with a disappointing loss against Venezia, managed to draw with Roma and felt the sting of loss against Hellas Verona. But Lady Luck wasn't completely heartless, as they managed to scrape a win against Monza and draw against Inter.
All things considered, I can only imagine the tension on the pitch would be as palpable as the suspense of waiting for my ex-mother-in-law's pies to be done. But when push comes to shove, only one team can walk away with the olive branch or whatever's left of it.
Albert’s Prediction: Juventus by 1
