Chunichi Dragons by 2Ah, the always thrilling game of baseball, where watching the grass grow might seem a faster pastime – only kidding, of course.
Now, let's put the spotlight on our contenders: the Yokohama DeNA BayStars, and the Chunichi Dragons. It's been a bit of a rollercoaster season for both teams, hasn't it? The Dragons breathing fire occasionally with a 40-44 win-loss record, while the BayStars, blinking in the dark, finished close behind at 39-42. Not exactly what I'd call a remarkable season, but hey, I've seen worse.
Look at their recent spar on July 19th, though. The Dragons showed some fiery form with a 7-2 win over the BayStars – an uncanny contrast from their encounters in early July, where the BayStars seemed ready to swat our scaly friends out of the sky during a three-game winning streak.
So, past encounters paint a mixed picture. Let's shift over to recent performances. The Dragons have been spewing plenty of fire lately, haven’t they? They've trounced their opponents in all recent encounters. The BayStars, on the other hand, are having a bumpy ride, triumphing barely over the Hiroshima Carp and barely sparking against our fierce dragon friends.
Now, I'm no psychic, but let’s bring things to a head. Yokohama boys might have a puncher's chance, but if the recent form of our Dragons is any indication and unless there's a blackout over the BayStars which, in turn, makes Dragons sightless, then my yen’s on the Dragons.
