Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks by 2Well, slap me silly and call me a hotdog vendor! We've got quite the showdown on our hands here. The Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks are swooping into Lion territory tonight.
Judging by their recent performances, eagle-eyed viewers might notice that the Hawks have been flying high and straight. They're coming off a sizzling streak of games, with their last encounter seeing the Lions tipsily fall to the ground with a score of 4-0.
Our poor Lions, on the other hand, remind me of a 70's TV dinner: a little bit sloppy, inconsistently heated, and leaving us craving for more. They went toe-to-toe with the Hawks in that 4-0 defeat and the less said about their encounter with the Nippon-Ham Fighters, the better. A 10-1 defeat. Egad!
Looking back at past games, one could argue that the Hawks have a pretty comfortable throne over the Lions. The last five encounters between these teams have turned out in favor of the Hawks not one, not two, but four times! Four out of five? I've seen better odds at a turtle racing contest.
Reflecting on the regular season records, the Hawks look like they're doing a samba dance while Lions appear to be two-stepping. They can't quite decide if they're having a winning season or losing one. It's like a supermarket employee deciding whether to put the fruit in the discount bin or not.
So, my fine fellow fans, we're heading into this showdown with the Hawks looking more likely to soar than plummet, and the Lions possibly preparing to eat more dust than victory cake.
